GOHP About Us

About the GOHP

The Gawler Oral History Project (GOHP) is an initiative of the Gawler Community Broadcasting Association Inc. (GBA) that aims to build and preserve an historical record of the lives and experiences of the people of Gawler

Using digital technology the GOHP can record, store and make freely available the stories of the people of Gawler – the experiences and memories that have built our communities – and preserve them for the future.

We are creating a place where the history of Gawler will be told by its people in their own words, and the stories they tell will be preserved and available for their families, for the next generations of locals, and for historians everywhere.

The GOHP project adheres to a set of Guiding Principles, and consists of several teams of dedicated members who work together to discover our history in the memories of locals from all different walks of life.
