It’s Redemption time again and this month the Culters are re considering the tv series that gave rise to the idea, Babylon Five. It was always felt that the original podcast did not do justice to the series as it was produced during Lock Down. It is the only Classic Cult TV Club episode not recorded ‘in person” and Lisa had questions, many questions..
And the arguments begin before the projector warms up, which episode is most likely to win over new viewers. Baylor is keen to watch a series two episode but it is Cassandra’s choice and they opt for a series one episode which better introduces the characters and the world. (space station that is)
The episode selected, The Parliament of Dreams is series 1, episode 5 first aired on the 23rd February 1994 in the U.S. Written by series creator, J. Michael Straczynski, directed by Jim Johnston and starring Michael O’Hare as Commander Jeffrey Sinclair, Mira Furlan as Delenn, Andreas Katsulas as G’Kar, Peter Jurasik as Londo Mallari, Bill Mumy as Lennier and Julie Caitlin Brown as Na’Toth. Regular B.5 actors not appearing in this episode are Claudia Christian as Lt Susan Ivanova, Jerry Doyle as Michael Garibaldi, Richard Biggs as Dr Stephen Franklin and Stephen Furst as Vir Cotto. Title music composed by Christopher Franke.
And so is Babylon Five redeemed of will the cultures have to watch Soul Mates, (Londo’s Wives) still.
