Sidney Ey was 101 years of age when interviewed in March 2018. Sidney was born and raised in Gawler. In the first interview he talks about growing up in Gawler in the 1920’s and 30’s. In 1940 he enlisted in the army and served as a stretcher bearer in the 9th Division at Tobruk, El Alamein, Syria, Lebanon, New Guinea and Borneo.
