Writing Against Type?? What and why

Part of the Series “Chapter and Verse
Produced by on October 27, 2018

Adelaide Plains Chapter and Verse monthly podcast recorded Thursday 27th September at The Studio, Community House Gawler.

Welcome to our monthly writing podcast with Janette, Carolyn, Marilyn and Michelle. Carolyn talks about the previous Poets @ the Pub workshop hosted by Sharon Kernot who has recently published a verse novel titled “The Art of Taxidermy” which Michelle and Carolyn discuss.

The discussion is about writers who “write against type”. So what does that mean and why do writers do it.

The forgotten word this month is “mythistory”, a word of some relevance currently. Janette reads a sample of her first novel which illustrates the meaning of the word.

This month’s listeners challenge is kookaburras as there were some having a good laugh at us when we arrived at the studio which is situated on the river bank.

Please use the GBA email for submissions, ([email protected]) and put APCaV Gawler Icons in the title.
