Welcome to the Classic Cult TV Club, (CCtvC), with Justin, Alex, Lisa, Mackenzie, Angus, Baylor and Janette.
It is Alex’s turn to bring an old favourite to the table this month and he has chosen Arrested Development, cult tv Sitcom from the early noughties. Some members of the group have very fond memories of this series, but to the remainder it is new. So will those who haven’t seen it yet be won over. What made this sitcom stand out at the time and how well does it hold up?
Season 1 Episode 6 first broadcast in the U.S. on 7th January 2003, Directed by Greg Mattoria and written by John Levenstein and Richard Rosenstock. Season 2 Episode 2 first broadcast in the U.S. on 14h November 2004 and directed by Patty Jenkins, written by Mitchell Hurwitz and Jim Vallely.
The series stars, Jason Bateman as Michael Bluth, Portia de Rossi as Lindsey Bluth/Funke, Will Arnett as George Bluth, Michael Cera as George Michael Bluth, Alia Shawkal as Maeby Funke, Tony Hale as Buster Bluth, David Cross as Tobias Funke, Jeffrey Tambor as George Bluth snr and Oscar Bluth, Jessica Walter as Lucille Bluth and Ron Howard as the Narrator.
