The Culters kick off the new year with a very special podcast because this is the very first listener request. The request is actually from about three years ago but “Darkplace” celebrates its’ 20th anniversary this year so qualifies as a classic cult tv show according to our very strict criteria.
Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace was created by Richard Ayoade and Matthew Holness for Channel 4 u,k and was first broadcast in the U.K on the 29th January 2004. It was written by Ayoade and Holness and Directed by Ayoade. It stares yes you guessed it, Matthew Holness as Garth Marenghi and playing Dr Rick Dagless, Richard Ayoade as Dean Learner playing Thornton Reed, Matt Berry as Todd Rivers playing Dr Lucien Sanchez and Alice Lowe as Madelaine Wool playing Dr Liz Asher.
So what will the Culters make of this show within a show, comedy/parody and what kind of food is this. Answering that questions is certainly going to be challenging.
