Welcome to the Classic Cult TV Club, (CCtvC), with Justin, Cassandra, Lisa, Mackenzie, Angus, Baylor and Janette.
The Classic Cult Tv Club have been watching and reviewing beloved old television favourites now for over six years and may not have always done justice to the subject. Sometimes it was a poor choice of episode or the circumstances were not conducive to the situation. So it has been decided that this year is “redemption year” and each “culter” is going to suggest one show that they feel was not fairly reviewed and deserves a second chance.
First up The Goodies. The first ever Classic Cult TV Club podcast was on a Goodies episode and while the episode held up it was the Culters who do not. To b fair most of the group were meeting for the first time, the location was not conducive to recording and everyone had a lot to learn about podcasting. So six years later Redemption year kicks off with another look at The Goodies.
The Goodies, Series 1 Episode 2 Snooze, aired 25-11-1970 and Kitten Kong, Montreux 72 Edition, a remake of series 2 episode 7 Kitten Kong.
The Goodies, an English sitcom ran from 1970 to 1982 on BBC and ITV. It was actually more popular in Australia where it was broadcast in a pre-dinner slot, usually right before Dr Who. Episodes are written by and star Tim Brooke Taylor, Bill Oddie and Graeme Garden. The music is written by Bill Oddie.
The surreal, madcap comedy style has inspired many imitators but how does the original hold up. What will Mackenzie think and will Cassandra be won over this time?
And the Big Questions.. who left the Goodies book in the letter box?

On a sad night, Tim Brooke-Taylor passed away in April 2020 due to Covid complications.
