Looking Back with the Bunyip: Wednesday 11th January
Looking back at Gawler’s history through the columns of the Bunyip Newspaper with Janette and Kay from Wednesday 11th January 2023
150 years ago the arrival of a “hairless horse” in Gawler was cause for excitement, 100 years ago there was speculation about the Prince’s potential bride, 50 years ago changes were planned for a dangerous junction, 25 years ago new housing developments were changing the shape of Gawler, and 10 years ago the need for a new damn was being discussed.
The Gawler Now and Then image is of the back of the Willaston Service Station Circa 1950
